Middletown Unified honors students and staff from four schools

The Middletown Unified School District board opened its meeting with a series of student- and staff-recognition presentations from several campuses.
A representative from Cobb Mountain Elementary told the board the school has "110 students in attendance this year" and invited the board and public to visit the campus. The speaker introduced Ashley Karp, whom staff described as "the Cobb School fairy" who "works behind the scenes" to keep classrooms organized and welcoming. "Ashley is a gem," the presenter said, and the school noted her regular support in TK and kindergarten.
Cobb Mountain also presented student-of-the-month Willow; the presenter said Willow has "read over 500000 words this school year" and praised her math work and kindness.
Middletown High School announced Jasmine Rojo Rodriguez as the district high-school number‑one student; the principal said Jasmine is a 4.0 student and is "ranked the number 1 student in her sophomore class." Erin Dorman, principal at Middletown Middle School, introduced Alina Kilstrom as her school's top student and highlighted her participation in advanced math and the morning bulletin. Brandy Fisher, principal of Minnie Cannon Elementary, presented Faith Myers and described her leadership on the school's leadership team.
Board members congratulated all honorees and invited students, families and staff to stay for the business portion of the meeting or return for future events.
