City seeks council concurrence to begin FY26 street-maintenance projects after data-driven pavement assessment

Devries said the process balances objective engineering data with flexibility to address safety concerns and coordinate with utility work or larger capital reconstruction when needed. She asked council for concurrence to begin delivering the identified FY26 projects and said staff will return in September with a comprehensive five‑year pavement management plan that outlines future maintenance and reconstruction priorities.
Council members asked whether funds cited were FY26 and whether projects might overlap with FY27 money; staff confirmed the presentation and the request are for FY26 funds and said some work could be concurrent with the following fiscal year. Council members also requested earlier advance notice for capital improvement project lists next year to allow swapping priorities by district before final decisions.
