The district provided a construction update on multiple KR Bond projects. Project leads said Hedgesville Early Learning Academy is finishing interior work and is on track for substantial completion on Aug. 11, with punch-list items to follow after teachers move in. Mountain Ridge Primary’s waterline and turning-lane work are near completion with a target substantial completion date of Oct. 22; the district plans to move students in the last week of October if schedules hold.
Because of ongoing construction at Mountain Ridge, the district installed a temporary modular campus made from 25 connected trailers that will house more than 400 students and roughly 50 staff. Presenters described site work, plumbing, fencing and traffic improvements and flagged a water authority request to upsize a supply line (16‑inch) that may require negotiating change-order costs and contractor markup details with the water company.
