Mr. Petrie said the software will improve visibility into appropriations and staffing and commended Superintendent Evangelist and Assistant Superintendent Jones for implementation work, adding that "it will be a valuable tool moving forward." The committee also discussed state aid forecasts and the potential budget impact of anticipated retirements for 2026–27.
Mr. Mitchell reported on the School Boards Institute session that covered the Foundation Aid formula in detail and provided comparative data from other local BOCES component districts. He also summarized committee discussion on zero-emission school buses, noting current legal requirements, possible extensions, costs, infrastructure challenges, and technical assistance available through NYSERDA. Board members said the district's large geographic area presents challenges for electric-bus implementation.
