The Camden Central School District Board of Education voted December 9 to authorize a pre-referendum contract with King + King Architects for architectural and engineering services tied to an upcoming facilities referendum. The resolution authorizes the board president or superintendent to enter the contract and to negotiate post-referendum architectural agreements for later board review.
The resolution states that "The Board of Education hereby authorizes the President of the Board or the Superintendent of Schools to enter into the approved Pre-Referendum Contract with King + King on behalf of the Board of Education and take all actions necessary or convenient to proceed under the Pre-Referendum Contract in connection with the Pre-Referendum Phase of the Project." The motion to approve the listed resolutions, including this contract authorization, was made by Mr. Fanning and seconded by Mr. Mitchell and was approved unanimously.
Board members did not debate specific contract dollar amounts during the public portion of the meeting. The board will review any negotiated post-referendum architectural service contracts before final approval.
