Middletown Unified to expand EdVenture (EDMO) after-school program; uses restricted ELOP funds, not general fund

District leaders said the program allows for nine-hour student days and can support intersession care and potentially summer enrichment without drawing from Quad 0 general-fund dollars.
Board members praised the Mini Cannon implementation as successful and noted expansion would help families needing supervision when parents work later hours. The district will coordinate site implementation and schedules with EDMO and the school sites; staff said ELOP funds will cover the expansion costs and that the program may also increase capacity for summer programming where allowed by funding rules.
The motion to approve the memorandum was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
