District extends inspector contract for Tallman Gym, discusses project priorities and meter questions

Facilities staff and contractor Van Pelt (Ray Green) updated the board on project status and technical questions for upcoming work and the board approved an extension of the AOR (inspector-of-record) contract for the Tallman Gym.
Ray Green said the district currently has three projects under jurisdictional review: the middle school gym, a new building at County Valley Elementary (fire alarm and PA work) and a site connection at Coyote Valley Elementary. Other projects have been paused pending alignment between the facilities team and the CBO on available funds.
During Q&A a trustee asked whether a new water meter would be required for the gym. Ray Green and design staff said the plan is to tie into existing water mains and that the water-meter situation had not yet been fully evaluated; staff agreed to research consolidation options and potential cost savings with PG&E.
Separately the board approved a flat-rate extension for the inspector-of-record on the Tallman Gym project after clarifying the duration and hours in the estimate; trustees said class-1 inspectors are difficult to find in the region and the flat-rate consultant indicated a two-month engagement at the estimated hours.
