Trustees grant conditional use for Ling Spa at Shorewood Plaza

The Village of Shorewood voted to grant a conditional use for Ling Spa to operate a relaxation massage business in the B2 zoning district at Shorewood Plaza.
Community development staff described the proposed space as between Spencer's Jewelry and West 52 Barbecue (formerly part of the Kazimaya space). Staff said the business would offer relaxation body and foot massages, initially operate with one massage therapist despite three proposed rooms, and that operations would be limited to no earlier than 9 a.m. and no later than 8 p.m. Staff also listed conditions including adherence to village codes and requiring licensed therapists. "They would be open daily no earlier than 9AM and no later than 8PM via appointment and walk ins," the staff presentation said. Trustee Brockman moved to approve the ordinance and Trustee Babiak seconded; the board voted to approve and waived the second reading.
