Summary
Trustees approved awarding ArborTech Services a contract up to $35,000 for the village's annual tree trimming program, an amount the vendor has held since 2022; staff estimated the work covers about 686 trees from the vendor's figure and a village goal of ~1,000 trees including in-house trimming.

The Shorewood Village Board approved a proposal to award Arbortech (ArborTech Services) the village's annual tree‑trimming program with a not‑to‑exceed amount of $35,000 and waived the formal bid process.
Public works staff said the vendor's estimate would cover roughly 686 trees based on the vendor's extrapolation, while the village's combined goal — including public‑works staff trimming alongside the contractor — is a little over 1,000 trees each season. Staff also noted ArborTech has performed the work for the village for over a decade and has maintained the same pricing since 2022. Trustee Selfridge moved and Trustee Babiak seconded the motion; the board approved the contract on roll call.
