The Board of Municipal Zoning Appeals on Aug. 4 approved a conditional-use appeal for 1718 West North Ave to operate as a neighborhood commercial retail goods establishment.
Planning staff (Justin Walker) told the board the site has a nonresidential use history that satisfies the neighborhood commercial establishment requirements and recommended approval provided operations remain within the zoning definition. Appellant Kevin Butler said the property — formerly a bridal shoe shop — will be used to sell auto-detail supplies: "We just plan to turn this into a auto detail supply store," he said, and confirmed no detailing services would occur on the premises. The board voted to adopt planning’s findings and approved the appeal, with the condition that no services will be performed on-site until a written resolution is issued.
