Dufur SD 29 board appoints two members, swears in Sean Scowles and Riley Luther

Board members moved and seconded nominations for both vacancies. Member (speaker 5) moved to nominate 'Sean Scott' for position number 5; the nomination was seconded and approved. The appointee, who identified himself in the meeting as Sean Scowles, took the oath: "I, Sean Scowles. Do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States and the constitution of the state of Oregon and the laws thereof and will faithfully and honorably remain myself in the office of school board member..." (speaker 6).
For position number 1, a board member (speaker 4) nominated Riley (spoken in the meeting as 'Riley Leiter'); the nomination was seconded and approved. The new board member, who said, "Hi, Riley Luther. Do solemnly swear that I will support [the constitutions]... myself in the school in the office of school board member of District 29" (speaker 1), was sworn in.
Board members thanked the community for participating in the applicant survey and noted orientation and next steps for the new members would be arranged.
