Sole Assessor warns solar projects could threaten Montgomery County's agricultural district

During the April 7 meeting Sole Assessor Charlene Ruszkowski told the Town Board she is aiming for assessment and equalization rates of 100 percent. When asked by Fey Mead about agricultural assessments amid new solar projects, Ruszkowski said she fears Montgomery County "may lose their agricultural district entirely if these projects continue to be approved." She added that residents who submit the appropriate documentation will continue to receive any agricultural discounts for which they qualify.
