Town Supervisor William Armitstead on Jan. 6 moved to adopt Resolution #1, setting the town’s 2026 organizational appointments. The board approved the measure unanimously, installing Arthur Ulman as Town Board councilman and naming Michael Ehrenreich deputy town supervisor; Dunn and Dunn, PLLC were retained as town attorneys and Amy Kretser was confirmed as town bookkeeper.
The resolution also listed code enforcement and health officers and filled seats on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board (for example, David Shults and John Toomey were named to ZBA and Planning Board leadership, respectively). The Town Historian position remains vacant. The board designated The Amsterdam Recorder as the official newspaper and NBT Bank as official depository; mileage and part-time pay will follow New York State rules and Highway part-time pay remains at the highway superintendent’s discretion.
