Cordelio Power schedules ORES hearing in Canajoharie; residents push back on planned work hours

Readling said Cordelio is pursuing a waiver to permit "regular working hours" that would allow construction Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the option to work weekends and holidays. The company framed the waiver as part of project logistics; the minutes record no vote or Board direction on the waiver during the meeting.
Claude Pietrowicz of Residents for the Preservation of the MV spoke during public comment and objected to the proposed hours, saying that "if Cordelio wants to be a part of our community, as they often say they do, then they should consider these hours as detrimental to the community and the day-to-day flow." The Board did not take action on the waiver request at the meeting and directed residents to the upcoming ORES public hearing for formal comment opportunities.
The hearing will be run by the state Office of Renewable Energy Siting (ORES) at the Canajoharie Fire Hall on Aug. 20. Residents who wish to make a record should attend or follow ORES's published procedures for public comment ahead of the hearing.
