Assistant Superintendent Christie Samojedny told the board that Educational Services adopted a written Instructional Framework with the tagline “D68 Learns” to provide a unified approach to teaching and learning across MTSS, multilingual supports and student services. She described the framework as grounded in three C’s: Cognitively demanding, Collaborative, and Cohesive, and said it is a “living document” that will evolve with ongoing professional development.
Samojedny reported specific district measures tied to the framework: a focus on improving i‑Ready reading (particularly vocabulary and informational text) and math growth, professional development through MCMI, and multiple delivery formats for staff learning including early release Mondays and institute days. She also said the district welcomed approximately 68 new families and 18 new teachers this year and that ParentSquare adoption is roughly 1,700 of 2,300 parents; the district attendance rate through early October was reported at 96%.
