District approves $24.5 million of transfers to capital projects fund

The Skokie SD 68 Board on Sept. 18 approved budget transfers that move large sums into the Capital Projects Fund to support the district's construction and capital program. Mr. Jeremy Glickman moved the transfers, which were seconded by Ms. Jill Scheer; the roll call vote recorded unanimous approval.
The transfers included $10,000,000 from the Working Cash Fund to Capital Projects; $7,300,000 from the Education Fund to Capital Projects; $7,200,000 from Operations & Maintenance to Capital Projects; and $220,000 from the Working Cash Fund to the Tort. The motion gives the district flexibility to fund the Early Childhood Center and other capital priorities in the coming year.
