Congresswoman Lois Frankel addressed the Riviera Beach City Council on Aug. 5, urging federal action on health care, immigration and voting-rights issues and promising to seek resources for local infrastructure. "People all over this country are struggling just to pay ordinary bills," Frankel said, connecting national budget priorities to local needs such as water and health services.
Frankel highlighted potential federal assistance for community projects and said she planned to seek funding for a mammogram machine to be located on Congress Avenue in Riviera Beach. She noted recent federal court rulings and changes to TPS for Haitian nationals, and said she would press for immigration reform and for protections to maintain access to representation for minority voters. Councilmembers thanked Frankel and asked her to prioritize water-plant funding; Frankel said she would use her appropriations committee experience to pursue projects for the city.
