Comanche County commissioners approve consent agenda, contracts and claims

The Comanche County Board of Commissioners voted May 18, 2026, to approve a multi-item consent agenda that included service contracts for the Comanche County Health Department, a private-property ditch-cleaning agreement, a surplus declaration for sheriff equipment and a slate of purchase orders and claims. Chairman Johnny Owens presided; Commissioners Ryan John and Josh Powers joined the unanimous votes.

Commissioner Ryan John moved to approve the minutes of May 11, 2026; Josh Powers seconded and the motion passed with John, Powers and Owens voting aye. Earlier in the meeting Commissioner Josh Powers moved to strike from the agenda an item concerning volunteer fire department email addresses; that motion was seconded by Ryan John and passed with the same unanimous tally. The board then approved the consent items and later approved the claims and purchase orders for payment with the full board voting aye.

The consent agenda included an annual building management system (BMS) service agreement for the Comanche County Health Department for the term July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, at an annual cost of $6,500; multiple professional service agreements (see separate item); and a resolution declaring surplus one 2022 Ford Police Interceptor (ID B-331-548, VIN 1FM5K8AB0VGC23390) and one TASER 10 (ID B607-87, serial T19H81861) for the Sheriff’s Department. The minutes list extensive claims and purchase orders approved on the PO calendar, including reimbursement PO #266186 for $414,737.30 to the Comanche County Facilities Authority and PO #266189 for $27,994.28 to the Comanche County Fairgrounds Trust Authority.

The board adjourned following approval of the claims; Commissioner Ryan John moved to adjourn, Josh Powers seconded, and the motion carried with all three commissioners voting aye.
