Fuquay-Varina pins badges, swears in two senior firefighters

The Fuquay-Varina Fire Department formally welcomed Robert Rosario and Tyler Cruz as senior firefighters during the board meeting. Fire Chief Jones introduced the new members and described the senior firefighter role as including training responsibilities and apparatus driving.
"Tonight, we will formally welcome aboard 2 new members, Robert Rosario ... and Tyler Cruz as they receive their firefighter badges," Chief Jones said. Division Chief Justin Rivestahl administered the oath of service: "I do solemnly swear to uphold the Constitution of The United States Of America and all the laws governing the state of North Carolina and the town of Fuquay-Varina." Family members pinned the badges.
Chief Jones said both hires bring years of prior firefighting experience and apparatus-driving credentials. The ceremony included brief remarks from family and board members congratulating the new firefighters.
