Fuquay-Varina introduces new economic development director Kelly Gordon

The Fuquay-Varina Town Board formally introduced Kelly Gordon as the town's new economic development director. Assistant Town Manager Jim Seymour said Gordon brings more than 20 years of experience from Southern Ohio in small business development, retention and industrial park work and is already preparing a strategic plan for the town.
"I'm really excited to be here, and, this is my 3rd week," Gordon told the board. She said she has begun meeting with residents and businesses and is focused on bringing industry and expanding opportunities for local employers.
Board members welcomed Gordon and said they expect her work to help balance residential growth with commercial development to strengthen the town's tax base. Commissioners expressed enthusiasm about partnering with the Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association and supporting Gordon's early outreach efforts.
