New Durham town administrator outlines personnel, records and hazard-mitigation work

Town Administrator Paul Branson, in his first weeks on the job, told the Select Board he has focused on reorganizing minute-taking procedures, standardizing job descriptions and reintroducing mandatory staff meetings. "This is business day 8 for me here in New Durham, and I believe I have acclimated well to my surroundings," Branson said while reviewing priorities.
Branson said he and staff have met to set voice-recording minutes responsibilities across boards and committees, plan updates to the personnel policy (including pay grades and performance reviews) and reconnect with the town's insurer, PrimeX, to arrange employee training and potential premium discounts. He also reported that the town's emergency-management director is working with Strafford County on a hazard-mitigation plan and that staff will bring proposed policy updates to the next Select Board meeting for review.
