O'Brien County supervisors approve agenda, minutes and three local appointments

At their Dec. 16 meeting the O'Brien County Board of Supervisors approved the agenda and previous minutes, appointed Whitney Engelke to the Sutherland Library Board, named Chas Biery to the County Compensation Board and appointed Ryan Jenness as General Assistance Director; the board adjourned to Dec. 23.
The O'Brien County Board of Supervisors met Dec. 16, 2025, and took a series of routine approvals and appointments. Committee member Friedrichsen moved to approve the day's agenda and Committee member McDowell seconded; "Moved by Friedrichsen, seconded by McDowell to approve the agenda for December 16, 2025. Motion carried by all ayes." Chair Barbara Rohwer presided and County Auditor Rhea Schmalen attested the minutes.
During the meeting the board approved minutes from Dec. 9, 2025, and confirmed three appointments. The board appointed Whitney Engelke to the Sutherland Library Board, named Chas Biery as the board's representative on the County Compensation Board for a one-year term, and appointed Ryan Jenness as O'Brien County General Assistance Director with staggered start dates and pay detailed in the motion. The meeting was adjourned to Dec. 23, 2025.
