The Town Board unanimously approved RESOLUTION #11 of 2026 to accept a Montgomery County Department of Public Works agreement for control of grass and brush along 41.60 miles of county highway within town boundaries. The contract runs June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 at $400 per mile for a total payment of $16,640.00.
County Representative Michael Muhlebeck asked Highway Superintendent Michael Cole and Town Bookkeeper Amy Kretser to track actual brush-and-grass expenses this season so the town can recommend a more feasible per‑mile payout to the county next year. The resolution was sponsored by Councilman William Armitstead and seconded by Councilman Darryl Easton; the minutes show all five board members voting aye.
