The resolution states the town historically has had a five-member ZBA with alternate positions that are difficult to fill and that the town could not easily locate an applicable town law specifying board size. The board resolved that the enactment would repeal any previous provisions that set the ZBA size and that the terms of sitting members would "expire naturally by operation of law or resignation," rather than effecting immediate removal.
The action reorganizes the ZBA membership for future appointments; the board followed regular procedure in adopting the local law at the meeting. The Town Clerk is responsible for updating records and reflecting the law change in the town code once filings are complete.
