Public Works updated the board Oct. 28 on ongoing maintenance and capital activity, including leaf pickup, water‑main work and traffic‑signal progress.
The department said it is in the third week of villagewide leaf pickup and aims to make one pass through the village each week; residents were asked to keep leaves in the parkway and avoid parking in front of piles. “It is our goal to make one pass through the entire village one time every week,” the public‑works representative said. Staff also reported transferring services to a new Park Shore water main and that asphalt patching at Shorewood Plaza is expected next week.
On the US‑52 and Whinstone traffic signal, the department said 99% of underground work is complete and the department is awaiting traffic‑signal equipment delivery, currently anticipated in January–February, to be ready before the YMCA opens. Public Works also described a run of closely spaced water‑main breaks over the last three weeks that required extended crews and overnight work to restore services.
No board action was required; staff will continue restoration and provide schedules as material deliveries are confirmed.
