YMCA pool shell complete; fill and leak test planned for mid‑December

The village building department updated the board Oct. 28 on construction progress at the YMCA and its pool project.
The building representative said pool footings and the floor are complete and that crews are finishing the pool shell, with a large concrete pour scheduled and follow‑up pours the following week. “Their fill date at this time looks to be, middle of December, so they're hoping to be doing their water test for leakage right around the 18th,” the building department official said. Staff noted weather and exterior backfilling will determine final timing and that they are coordinating meter and water‑use logistics with public works and finance.
The building official said contractors have taken the hydrant meter for construction use, the permanent main meter is installed, and some details remain to be resolved about which meter will be used to fill the pool. No board action was required; staff will continue coordination with the YMCA and the general contractor.
