River Bluff residents ask Shorewood to take over berm and trail maintenance, citing ordinance change

Judy Fowler, speaking on behalf of River Bluff Estates residents, told the board that 2.5 years of construction left weeds two to three feet high at times and exposed red, yellow and black cables in backyards near Zile Road. Fowler urged the village to "reconsider our request and take over the maintenance" and recommended weekly grass cutting or permanent rock landscaping to avoid an eyesore.
Fowler specifically asked the village to revise ordinance 7-1-4 so homeowners are not responsible for maintaining the berm and the path adjacent to the curb. The chair said staff would follow up with public works to clarify what the final landscaping looked like, what IDOT completed, and where property lines lie so the village and residents can reach a resolution; no ordinance change was voted on at the meeting.
