Councilman James Roberts told the council that drawings for a proposed awning were submitted to Planning and Zoning but were denied for safety reasons and because of state road right-of-way and setback requirements. Roberts said the council will continue working on the project and may pursue a conditional-use permit.
Roberts also relayed a citizen request to replace playground equipment; staff noted the playground is largely serviceable except for a faded green animal piece that may need replacement. The council did not approve purchases at the Dec. 2 meeting and asked staff to return with options and any permit requirements.
