Council members discussed adopting a Utah code provision before the end of the year to allow Wales firefighters to be paid for out-of-town wildfire work. The minutes state that "it is necessary to adopt [a] Utah code before the end of the year that will facilitate our fire crews being paid for out of town wildfire work."
Council identified the adoption as a year-end priority but did not record a motion or ordinance language at the Dec. 2 meeting. Staff and council members will need to identify the exact statutory citation and return with draft language before formal adoption.
