Dr. Patil told the Board the tentative budget anticipates higher transportation costs, increased food service expenses, and rising health insurance and workers' compensation premiums; she also flagged possible delays in Cook County property tax distributions and the expiration of several federal grants as revenue risks. The board voted to schedule a public hearing on the tentative budget for Sept. 15, 2026, and authorized public notice of availability of the Tentative Budget for review before final adoption in September.
