Councilmember Murray reports bids, cemetery flag replacement and county EMS planning

At the May 21 meeting Councilmember Tim Murray delivered several committee reports. "Received 4 bids today for the Old Town Hall project," Murray said, and he relayed a Dryden Fiber update provided by Dave Makar. Murray read a report from Mike Moran about Caroline cemeteries and said the Flag Committee received 600 flags from the County Veterans Service Agency and that 100 flags went to the town's seven cemeteries.
County Legislative Representative Weiser reported county-level activity affecting Caroline: an informational study on the impact of increasing minimum wage, development of a 20-year capital plan, and that the county has applied for a Certificate of Need to operate Emergency Medical Services. Weiser also noted accessibility-deadline changes for websites through April 2027, a planned move for town web presence from a .org to a .gov domain, suspension of "Code Blue" temporary housing services until fall, and an NYSEG temporary rate increase of approximately 3.5% for electric and 0.5% for gas after PSC action.
