At the June 25 recessed meeting the Wise County Board of Supervisors handled multiple administrative items. The board unanimously tabled the county administrator recruitment to the August regular meeting (motion by Robert R. Adkins, seconded by Steve Bates), struck an appointment to the Board of Equalization (motion by Fred Luntsford, seconded by Randy Carter), and tabled limitations on county credit cards to the August meeting (motion by Clarence S. “Rusty” Peters Jr., seconded by Tim Boardwine).
Separately, the board approved Budget Amendment #53 (motion by Steve Bates, seconded by Clarence Peters Jr.) and authorized the monthly appropriations for July (motion by Fred Luntsford, seconded by Clarence Peters Jr.). The board also voted to cancel the July meeting and change the date of the August regular meeting to August 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.; both motions were unanimously approved and recorded in the minutes.
