Select Board OKs $87,800 for two public works pickup trucks

Matt Gunner, director of public works, told the board he compared prices across dealers and found the best value at O'Connor Motors. “I would ask the board to allow use of funds out of the 2627 capital budget for public works to buy 2 identical pickup trucks for a total of $87,800,” he said. One truck will be assigned to the deputy director; the other will be shifted down to crew use. The trucks are double-cab, long-bed 1/2-ton models prepared for plow installation but not plow-equipped at purchase. Anne Callahan moved to authorize the purchase; the motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
