Councilmembers report on community programs, and mayor relays regional data-center briefing

Mayor Johann Wallace summarized a regional meeting in Benson about data centers where Arizona State University participants and regional utilities discussed types of data centers, cooling approaches and resource use. Wallace said many modern data centers minimize water use with closed cooling systems and that "there are datacenters that are interested in looking at Cochise County." He advised residents that comparisons between agricultural water use and data centers show agriculture uses far more in many cases and suggested the public update their information on data-center proposals.
