Committee approves updated Solid Waste policies and school trade educational disposal policy
Summary
The committee reviewed updated Solid Waste policies and procedures (not revised since 2009) and approved an Educational Disposal Policy for the School Trade Program; the policies will be forwarded for additional review before final adoption.
Solid Waste Director Lisa Bauknecht told the committee the department's policies and procedures had not been updated since 2009 and that staff revised the document to reflect current operations and added safety procedures.
Members agreed the School Trade Program Educational Disposal Policy was well written and approved it for inclusion in the updated policies and procedures. Bauknecht said the revised policies will be forwarded to county reviewers Jenny Lueneburg, Traci Hartman, and Chad Lynch for further review before final approval and adoption.
Chair Ted Cushing requested that committee members receive updates as the School Trade Program is used; staff will add the approved policy to the policy manual and return with updates.
