A letter dated Jan. 29 from resident Ian Steding was read by a board member thanking the Department of Public Works for clearing roads, crosswalks and areas around fire hydrants after a significant winter storm. "I just wanted to take a moment to thank the men and women at the Department of Public Works," Steding wrote; the chair ordered the letter filed and asked that a copy be shared with crews.
Separately, DPW and fire department staff announced a recognition ceremony on the 27th at 9 a.m. honoring a November cardiac reversal performed by firefighters for community member Butch Rentz. Maggie asked board members to hold the date and said more details would be emailed when finalized. Multiple board members then praised the snow removal effort and acknowledged strong interdepartmental cooperation despite some equipment failures.
The board accepted the GIPA and DPW monthly recap later in the agenda and thanked crews for the work described in the resident's letter.
