The council approved a request from Reinbeck Telecommunications Utility to block four parking spaces next to the Milk House on Main Street on Aug. 15, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. for a customer-appreciation event (motion by Bueghly; seconded by Pease; 4 ayes). The council also approved closing the street in front of Cooley’s on Aug. 15 at 8:00 p.m. for the Movies on Main screening of "Under the Boardwalk" (motion by Bueghly; seconded by Wambold; 4 ayes).
Separately, Councilmembers Wambold and Bueghly reported on RAGBRAI: Reinbeck was the only town on the route that implemented recycling during the event, and RAGBRAI organizers plan to try to implement recycling more broadly; both councilmembers were asked to sit on a panel in Des Moines next year to discuss their experience. The council received these updates and approved the event logistics for Aug. 15.
