The Village of Green Island approved renewal of memorandums of understanding for 2026 with the Green Island Power Authority, the City of Cohoes, the City of Troy, Green Island Union Free School District No. 1 and American Legion Post (transcript: "9 27"). The chair emphasized longstanding mutual aid and the need for formal agreements given insurance requirements.
The board also approved a proposed three-year renewal with Everbridge for the village’s emergency alert system. Maggie said locking into a longer-term contract "tends to be more competitive" and that the vendor offered to hold the price for three years; she noted the system is used frequently and described the renewal as worthwhile. The motion to renew both the MOUs and the Everbridge contract carried without opposition.
Both items were presented as routine but important for continuity of intermunicipal services and village emergency communications. No board member requested further analysis or changes before voting to approve.
