Reinbeck council sets Sept. 1 hearings, approves transfers and finance filings

The council set Sept. 1, 2026 hearings for the Pioneer Street Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project and the Capital Improvement Plan, approved fund transfers and the FY2026 Street Finance and Annual Financial reports, and approved a lien for unpaid utilities and acceptance of a resignation.
At its Aug. 3 meeting the Reinbeck City Council approved several procedural and financial items. Johnson moved to approve Resolution #2026-25R to set the hearing and letting for the Pioneer Street Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project; the council set the hearing for Sept. 1, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. The council also approved Resolution #2026-26R to set a public hearing on the proposed Capital Improvement Plan for fiscal years 2027–2031 for Sept. 1, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.; both motions passed unanimously on roll-call votes.
Council approved Resolution #2026-27R to transfer funds to pay upcoming obligations and Resolution #2026-28R approving the FY2026 Street Finance Report and directed the clerk to file it with the Iowa DOT. The council also approved filing the FY2026 Annual Financial Report with the State. In other administrative business the council reluctantly accepted the resignation of cemetery sexton/park maintenance Darren Trunck, effective July 31, 2026, and approved a Certificate of Lien for unpaid utility charges totaling $1,123.42.
All motions in this cluster of items recorded unanimous votes among attending members. The Sept. 1 hearings will allow public comment on the Pioneer Street sanitary sewer work and the CIP.
