Council considered a resolution to declare legacy Fortville Police Department radios surplus and to transfer them to Knightstown Police Department. Town staff explained the radios are no longer compatible with the county 911 system and are being replaced; serial numbers in the exhibit were updated for accuracy. "We no longer use those radios. They're outdated in this county," staff said, explaining Knightstown has requested the surplus units and will adopt a similar resolution at its next meeting.
Council approved the resolution on first reading by voice vote and discussed minor corrections to the signature pages and numbering on the exhibit. Staff said that after Knightstown adopts their resolution, the town will finalize signatures and deliver the radios.
