Reinbeck approves switch to automated garbage pickup, sets new monthly charges

Councilmember Johnson moved to proceed with the new procedure and set city billing at $16.75 per month for 65-gallon containers and $19.75 per month for 95-gallon containers (motion seconded by Wambold). The council approved the motion 4–0. Minutes state the city will add to the base Cooley charge to cover nuisance-abatement cleanups and will reinstate a fall cleanup day; the minutes also note curbside recycling would be eliminated as part of this change.
