Board awards $616,500 painting contract for Walker Creek Ranch

The Marin County Board of Education voted unanimously to award a deferred-maintenance painting contract for Walker Creek Ranch to Affordable Quality Painting, the lowest of eight bidders at $616,500. John Glenn of Bravestone West summarized the procurement process and told trustees the low bid came in well under the project estimate of $950,000.
"We received 8 bids for this project with a low bid being from Affordable Quality Painting at $616,500," Glenn said. The board approved the motion to award the contract; staff said work is scheduled to start Aug. 10 with completion expected by Sept. 14.
