The Paulsboro Borough Council adopted Ordinance O.26.05 on April 14 to prohibit cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers and delivery services on Lodge Avenue (Block 124 Lot 2). The ordinance passed on second reading with the roll call recorded as Ayes: Thomas, Armistead, Evans, Singleton, Turner; Absent: Haynes.
Mayor Giovannitti said a cultivation company that had considered the site chose to locate in West Deptford instead, and the borough is exploring other opportunities for development in the area. He told council that because the interested cultivator relocated last year, the borough is continuing to evaluate appropriate land uses for the Lodge Avenue site.
The ordinance amends the borough code to add the parcel to a prohibition list. Borough staff will update zoning maps and apply the prohibition when processing future land‑use or license applications for that block.
