Aaron Warner, executive director of Visit McKinney, presented a limited-edition "America $2.50" coin the organization produced and left for board members. "We made 250 of them," he said, and he described several community engagement activities used to distribute the coins, including guided tours, an app-driven self-guided tour, and social-media scavenger hunts.
Warner also said the World Cup helped drive day-trip visitation to McKinney and noted anecdotal increases in short-term rental visibility; he previewed the ASEA hotel on Craig Ranch with an estimated October opening and reminded the board the Drum Corner National event was scheduled that night.
