Commission approves adding 19.6 acres to Hunter Ranch MPC (6–0)

The commission voted 6–0 to recommend that roughly 19.6 acres be rezoned and incorporated into the Hunter Ranch Master Plan Community (MPC) as mixed-use regional (MR). Staff recommended approval, saying the parcel is currently pasture and that adding it to the MPC will bring the site under an enforceable development plan.
Andrew Piper of Hillwood Communities, the applicant, said the parcel sits near the planned northwest quadrant of a future I‑35 interchange and that MR zoning is consistent with commercial frontage and the planned interchange geometry. Staff said notices were mailed and no public responses were received prior to the hearing; the commission forwarded the recommendation to City Council.
