The Los Fresnos CDC on Aug. 3 approved several business grants intended to help local storefronts and interior renovations. The business grant committee recommended awards after reviewing quotes; the board approved each grant by voice vote.
Committee chair Mr. Capone reported low quotes and the CDC portion for each award: A & A Towing and Recovery at 101 S Arroyo (low bid $12,525, CDC portion $6,262.50); Poppin' Claw sign grant (low quote $4,000, CDC portion $2,000); The Sweet Shop sign grant (low quote $3,340, CDC portion $1,670) and interior grant (low quote $30,800, CDC portion $5,000); Casa Columbia Coffee Shop LLC interior grant (low quote $16,750, CDC portion $5,000); and Robert Salinas Plaza storefront grant (low quote $15,250, CDC portion $7,500). The board approved each recommendation unanimously.
"The business grant committee met and reviewed the application," Mr. Capone said, presenting the committee’s recommendations. Board members confirmed the recommended CDC shares and voted to approve the grants during the meeting.
