Councilors emphasized safety and the need for earlier neighborhood meetings and notice; staff said they would follow typical development notice practices and that one final parcel (owned by Denton Housing Authority) remained to be acquired. The motion authorizing the city manager and city attorney to make offers and, if needed, file eminent domain proceedings passed unanimously, 7–0.
