The Los Fresnos Community Development Corporation on Aug. 3 approved a $741,520 budget for fiscal year 2026–27. Roberto Baez, introduced as the city manager, told the board the proposal assumes a 4% increase in sales tax revenue and carried a recommendation to adopt the estimate.
"We are projecting a 4% increase on sales tax," Baez said during the finance presentation. The board moved, seconded and approved the budget by unanimous voice vote. The budget discussion included projected year-to-date sales tax performance and the recommendation to proceed without additional amendments for the moment.
Budget documents provided at the meeting showed the staff projection and a plan to monitor revenue as the fiscal year progresses; the board did not schedule any follow-up vote or additional hearings at the meeting.
