Eskenazi Health and its foundation updated trustees on clinical designations, workforce programs and fundraising progress.
Dr. Lisa Harris said Eskenazi’s Family Beginnings and Newborn Intensive Care Unit ‘‘has undergone a successful reverification visit, with no deficiencies noted,’’ which preserves its Level 3 perinatal designation under Indiana Department of Health guidance. Harris highlighted workforce investments: nine nurses completed a six-month RN residency in June, a June 23 nursing recruitment event is planned, and Eskenazi’s internship programs include 18 interns in the emerging professionals program and a record 67 students with physical disabilities participating in the Fairbox Center this summer.
Angela, president and CEO of the Eskenazi Health Foundation, reported that the foundation secured generous donor commitments and is on track to meet a required $2,000,000 match to unlock a $10,000,000 Lilly Endowment grant for the Ferry Box Center; the grants committee has awarded just over $1,000,000 in spendable funds and the foundation has distributed about $1,700,000 to the health system to date.
