In a cultural-excellence update, staff recapped internal workshops and supplier-engagement progress and presented early supplier-diversity spend figures for the organization.
Felicia, who participated in procurement evaluation and supplier engagement tracking, said the organization’s ‘‘total applicable spend was a little over $39,000,000’’ and the year-to-date Q1 spend with diverse businesses was ‘‘$5,700,000.’’ Staff noted the organization exceeded its veteran-owned business goal at 3.36% and disability-owned business spend at 1.18%, producing an overall XBE (diverse business) spend of 14.69% for Q1 as reported to the city of Indianapolis. Cultural-excellence activity includes connected-culture workshops and professional development for facilitators; staff said they will continue outreach and quarterly team-connection sessions.
